Personal story:

Jeremy Ray has been singing since childhood. Raised in a musical home, Jeremy was surrounded by music from birth and was encouraged to recognize the creator of music and to honor Him with his abilities.

“My love for metal music started in the womb.” “My mother would play accordion while I was a wee fetus.”  “If that doesn’t turn you to all things metal, I don’t know what would.” – Jeremy Ray

At the age of twelve, Jeremy began singing with a traveling choir and fine-tuned his vocal skills over the next 6 years.

In 1999, Jeremy began singing with the band Test of Faith, a progressive metal group from his hometown.  While with that group, Jeremy was introduced to many different genres of metal, most notably, Euro Power, Symphonic, Melodic, and Progressive. A deeper love and appreciation for a broad range of metal began.

While recording with guitar great and producer Rex Carroll of WhiteCross fame, Jeremy accidentally burst a blood vessel in his vocal chords. The injury seemingly ended Jeremy’s vocal career and his tenure with Test of Faith.

But God had other plans.

After 4 years of resting his vocal chords, the guys in StrangeLand felt the call to invite Jeremy to be their new lead singer. After much prayer, consideration and seeking council from Pastors Chuck Tate and Bob Beeman, as well as some trusted friends, Jeremy and his wife decided that God was calling him to continue his mission as a vocalist.

“If God wants me to sing, I am going to do it. Even if it means I bleed from the mouth… that’ll just make it more metal anyway.” – Jeremy Ray

Thus Jeremy joined the StrangeLand brotherhood.  The band is thrilled to have him join their ranks, and with his skill, continue to press onward!
